Do you believe me when I told you that each time I cooked pork chops I could ensure that they would be perfectly cooked and soft? Would you believe me? Are you tired of eating stale shoe-leather pork chops? I’ll try my best to convince you once more. Let me persuade you to try cooking your chops with the oven. Here’s how to cook perfect, juicy and cooked pork chops. I recommend looking for chops that have bones. Although they require a bit longer time to cook than chops that are bone-free, as I’ve observed but it’s another method to ensure tender pork chops. If I’m saying «a bit longer to cook» it’s really just a few minutes. This won’t make any difference when you’re cooking your meal! It’s time to brine your pork chops when you’ve returned them to your home. Brining pork chops is considered to be one of the most effective ways to ensure a delicious cooked chop of pork. A quick brine of 30 minutes or even 4 hours can make an enormous difference. Although it is not necessary, you can still make great pork chops using this method, even without brining. If you’re in the mood and are in a position to do so I strongly suggest it. Brining actually alters the structure of cells within the meat, leading to the chop being much more juicy. Salt brine can also be used to season the meat’s interior. It’s not «salty» but it will taste perfectly seasoned. It is possible to add additional seasonings, like garlic, peppercorns, fresh herbs, and lemon, royal bbq grills to the brine to give it more flavor. If you’re afraid of bland pork chops, definitely give brining a try. Pork chops are an incredibly tender, quick-cooking cut of meat — so quick-cooking, in fact, that they’re difficult to overcook. This is the reason I prefer to start cooking the chops cooking on the stove top and then give them a good sear, and then move them into the oven to finish cooking. The moderate heat from the oven allows us to control the rate of cooking slightly better, and prevents the outside from getting dry and brittle when the meat is finished cooking. This can make the whole process of cooking pork chops much easier by using a single pan. The skillet is heated in the oven while you get all the other ingredients prepped, then transfer it with care! Flip the chops after they’re done cooking on the bottom. Transfer the skillet to the oven. The skillet’s residual heat will cook the pork chops on the other side while the oven warms them up. The result is perfect cooked pork chop — one that’s golden and crusted on the outside, and deliciously tender and juicy in the middle. Every every time. Serve with a simple side salad, roasted vegetables, or rice pilaf to make a simple and quick weeknight meal. Optional: You may also brine the pork chops. The pork chops can be brined for just a short duration if you have time. This improves the taste of the final product , and also ensures the juiciness. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil, add the flavorings and salt and stir to dissolve the salt. In order to bring the brine to ambient temperature, add 2 cups of water that is cold. Place the chops of meat in a shallow dish and put the brine on top. The brine should be able to over the chops. If it doesn’t then add more water or salt (1 cup water or 1 teaspoon salt) until the chops are fully submerged. Cool the dish for up to 4 hours or 30 minutes. In the oven, heat the skillet and oven. Place a rack inside the central oven. Bring it to 400°F. To warm, place an oven-safe large skillet in the oven. While the oven heats cooking, cook the pork chops. Sprinkle the chops with salt and pepper. Remove the chops from the brine; if you didn’t brine, remove the chops from their containers. Pat dry using paper towels. Apply olive oil to both sides, then add salt and pepper. While the oven is heating up Set the chops aside. Remove the skillet from the oven. Utilizing oven mitts, take the hot pan from the oven and set it on medium-high heat the stove. Unlock a window, or turn on a fan. Grill the chops. Place the pork chops in the hot skillet. They should immediately start to smoke. Within 3 minutes, sear the chops until they are golden brown. The chops may start to smoke a little — that’s ok. If the heat is too high, reduce the temperature. Turn the chops upside down and transfer into the oven. Use tongs to flip the chops. Using oven mitts, immediately put the skillet into the oven. The chops must be cooked until soft. The pork chops should be cooked to your liking. Cooking time will be 6 to 10 minutes depending on the weight of the chops, the temperature at the start of cooking and if they were brined. Start checking the chops at 6 minutes. Continue to check every minute or so until the chops are ready. The chops must be allowed to rest. Transfer the pork chops on the plate. Pour any pan juices over top of the chops (or use them to make a gravy or sauce). The chops are covered with aluminum foil, and let them to rest for 5 minutes. You can store leftovers in an airtight container inside your refrigerator for up four days. Get the Kitchn Daily in your inbox.
