Children are fascinated by watching seeds sprout. This is especially true when seeds sprout quickly. Alfalfa ( Medicago sativa) is a very easy to cultivate seed which should grow in about a week. To see the seeds germinate you can sprinkle some alfalfa seedlings on a sheet of paper towel that is damp.
You’ll need:
Alfalfa seeds are in a package (about 1.5g)
A small or small dish, or a saucer
Three pieces of paper towel
A small spray mister or water container
How to Develop
Wet 3 pieces of paper towels and place them on top of the other on a table.
Then drain the water off the plate. The paper towel must be dampened, but seeds shouldn’t be floating in water.
Sprinkle the seeds thickly onto the paper towel.
Set it on a sunny window with water to stop the paper towel from drying out. You can use a mister or اسعار بذور البرسيم spray bottle to dampen the seeds or you can add a small quantity of water into the saucer with an ice cube or a small cup.
You should check your seeds daily to see how they’re growing.
Troubleshooting
Alfalfa seeds are very easy to cultivate and should begin to germinate within 2-6 days. If the seeds don’t germinate during this time, here are a few factors that could have gone wrong:
Too dry Seeds need water to grow. Alfalfa seeds absorb about their weight in water prior to they germinate, and look as if they’ve gotten bigger. If your seeds are too dry, they won’t sprout. To ensure the seeds don’t get sucked up in water, add more to your bowl. You could also soak the seeds over night; but be sure to drain and rinse them with fresh water prior to spreading them out on the towel.
Too wet:If the seeds are damp, their roots and shoots could rot before they get a chance to develop. Seeds can also turn mouldy. While it’s okay for the paper towel and seeds to be damp, they shouldn’t be submerged in water. The excess water should be removed from the tray each when you water or mist the seeds.
Too cold or hot Alfalfa thrives when temperatures are between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. If you are growing your seeds in winter, you can put them in a warm spot inside. It may be necessary to water your seeds more frequently when they are grown in very hot temperatures. They’ll dry much faster.
