‘s rising star Alejandro Garnacho is set to earn 10 times his current salary with talks ‘progressing well’ over a new bumper contract at Old Trafford, according to reports.

The Argentinian winger has enjoyed a breakthrough season for United, quickly becoming part of manager Erik ten Hag’s plans after scoring against Real Sociedad in the Europa League and netting a last-minute winner against just before the World Cup break.

Garnacho is currently earning £5,000-per-week having just broken into the first team but reports are suggesting that this could be increased to £50,000 in a new deal. 

United fans will be delighted to hear that contract talks are progressing as they look to pin down the Spanish-born Argentina Under-20 international, the  reports. 

The 18-year-old star has proved influential in big moments, including when he netted the only goal in a victory over Real Sociedad in the Europa League. But perhaps more vital was his in the last Premier League game before the World Cup break.

His wonderfully taken goal saw him link up with Christian Eriksen before showing the composure of a forward who has been in the game far longer than he has to slot home his first Premier League goal past Bernd Leno.

The gifted forward first arrived at the Manchester United Academy following a move from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for £420,000.

His current deal does not expire in 2024 with a one-year optional extension but it understood that the club want to reward his rise to the first team.

It’s not all been plain sailing for the United forward though, with some big names at the club eager to keep his feet on the ground.

Garnacho’s mother, father and younger brother have since joined him in England now, and his parents could be seen in tears while filming him from the meu directors‘ box at Old Trafford when he came on to make his first-team debut against Chelsea in April.

It was United’s interim manager last season, Ralf Rangnick, who gave Garnacho his break in the first-team having instantly recognised the youngster’s talent and included him in every first-team training session.

His displays have clearly impressed fans, and  for the November Player of the Month award, putting him clear of team-mates David de Gea and Casemiro.
