‘My daughter Stella started college. My son Nolan’s about to graduate high school,’ she said. ‘And I wrote a book about my life called Hello Molly.’

‘My dad always taught me to keep my chin up and never give up on my showbiz dreams,’ she said.
Quoting her father, she continued: ‘No matter what problems you face — if you keep a positive attitude, everything will turn out okay.’

Her first sketch of the night began with her portraying a valet-in-training — alongside James Austin and Kenan Thompson — during their collective first day on the job.
The supervisor — played by Austin Dismukes — quipped that their job is ‘the second hardest job in the world’ after brain surgery.
Proving that statement accurate, the three aspiring valets demonstrated their struggle with following the ‘three simple rules’ they refer to as ‘the corner stone of quality valet’.
The valet-in-charge then instructed the trio that they must always do a ‘lil joke’, ‘lil bow’, followed by a ‘lil jog’ away.
Austin’s character took a jab at the rules and ended up making an offensive joke.
When it came to Shannon’s character’s turn to try it out, ‘Jenny’ let her nerves take over and scares the customers away with overbearing, oversharing statements.
‘Nice car you got there,’ she said.’I may have to steal that baby. Just kidding.’
When Thompson’s character attempts the rules, he either spoke too quietly or yelled aggressively at the guests.

For her second skit, she portrayed a comedian doing a standup special in a Netflix trailer — a clear parody of Chris Rock’s latest stand-up routine Selective Outrage.
As Jeannie Darcy doing a comedy show called ‘Selective Startage,’ she repeatedly ended her jokes with the same line: ‘Don’t get me started.’
Throughout the mock trailer, ‘fans’ praised her for her style of comedy and her frequent usage of the phrase.
‘I picked up one of those new Tesla electric cars,’ she joked monotonously.’I couldn’t get it started.’

In the next sketch, Shannon portrayed a pregnant employee named Susie, who was being thrown a baby shower by her coworkers ahead of her maternity leave.
Her colleague — played by Heidi Gardner — presented her with a waffle maker, and before accepting the gift, Susie raved about all the positives aspects of being pregnant.
As she approaches her coworker to finally grab the present, however, she experiences flatulence and her baby bump deflates, revealing she just had gas.
Expressing dismay, her peers asked her how many times she had been ‘pregnant’ in the past to which Susie responded, ‘Four times.’
‘At least I can drink again,’ she said as she snatched her colleague’s flute of champagne.
After eating cat fish sliders — which she reveals she eats everyday, her stomach inflates again.
‘At least I can smoke again,’ she said as she went to light a cigar.
With the gas in the room, the building then exploded and ended the scene.

Additionally, Shannon then played herself in a sketch where she stumbles across three of her friends playing a video game based on her life.
‘Molly Shannon 2K23,’ the trio — portrayed by Mikey Day, Michael Longfellow, James Austin Johnson — said they were playing.
‘It’s really fun. You play as Molly Shannon bouncing your career as an actor with raising a family.’
They went on to teach her that you can earn ‘turnips’ which is the currency that allows the player to buy new outfits in the ‘Molly Market’.
‘It’s more fun than Super Mario Batali,’ one of them joked.
Three days later, the three guys returned to find that Shannon has been playing the game nonstop and had became ‘Molly Shannon the Rapper.’

The following skit began with a playwright being praised by her boyfriend — portrayed by Michael Che — as they sat in the crowd of a theater.
The writer then told him as well as the audience that the play is ‘loosely’ inspired by her own life.
The curtains then drew to show Shannon in a wedding dress playing a bride contemplating her choices as she looks into a mirror.
The boyfriend was surprised that the playwright had at one point — unbeknownst to him — been engaged.
Shannon then bursted into song and shed the wedding gown for a plunging LBD.
In the song, she revealed that she broke off the engagement and plans to embark on ‘a year of a thousand men’.
The boyfriend got up from his seat and was about to walk out after learning the new information, but the playwright insists the story is only ‘loosely based on [her] life’.
With perfect timing, Shannon’s character confirmed the events in the play are true and more than just a little bit accurate.
Shannon as the actress on stage started a monologue about ‘meeting the one’.
Nick Jonas then appeared as her ex-boyfriend Trevor — ‘the one who got away’.
‘Anytime you climax in the future, it will still be because of me,’ he said, before Shannon revealed that he ‘moved to Anaheim to pursue his dream of running social media for GrubHub.
At the end of the skit, the playwright seemingly made a dig at her boyfriend by making him a nerdy character, who she had to force herself to be sexually attracted to.
Then, Shannon’s character went on to meet her 1,001th man — who is the man sitting to the right of the playwright in the theater.

Then, the musical guests of the night — the Jonas Brothers — took the stage for their performance.
The former Disney stars performed the song Waffle House from their 2023 album simply titled The Album.
During their song, Kevin played guitar and supported his two younger brothers with background vocals.
For the next skit, Shannon is one of three ‘actors on set’ of a ‘drug commercial’.
As the lead actress, she is overly cheerful when singing about symptoms of menopause — although never at any point calling it for what it is.
While dancing, she sings about a ‘new drug for gals over 40’ called ‘Vajerted’.
She then passive aggressively insulted her two costars for not having the same energy as her: ‘It’s like one of us is Beyonce, and the other two are really bad at dancing.’
At the end of the skit, the other actresses leave and Kenan Thompson joined her in singing and dancing — although repeatedly calling the drug by the wrong name.
