Plot
After the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, makes a move to take over Gotham’s criminal underworld. Aside from a bat signal in the final scene of the season finale, we never got a cameo from Robert Pattinson in «The Penguin.» In this short video, IMDb attempts to answer: Where the hell was Batman? Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of the Penguin’s smoking cigarette in The Batman (2022), but it didn’t work out.

I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I never understood the skinny, handsome, fit actor and dressing up in a big prosthetic and a thick suit… especially considering he looks like other famous actors. I also didn’t really understand why this spinoff was coming, and to be honest, I’m sick of the Batman reboot.
But I didn’t expect to like it so much
But after episode 1, I can confirm that this show is amazing (so far). I only watched it knowing that it was a necessary bridge between the first and second movies, and my surprise was Farrell’s satisfaction with the role in the first. The acting is great, the script is excellent and surprised me with quick twists.
The biggest thing I liked was that there was a lot more color here than in Batman
I noticed this almost immediately, because it was a huge complaint about the movie for me (it felt like I was watching it through a Zack Snyder lens). I hope it continues to be as good as it is because I can’t wait for the next episode.
